For those of us who have neither the time nor patience to wash and style our hair every day, dry shampoo is a small miracle in our getting ready routine. It helps to absorb oil from your roots, adds volume for a bit of oomph, and can even help to texturize your hair if it’s too clean to hold teasing or curls. Especially since I chopped off my locks, dry shampoo does wonders for me with freshening up my day old hair.
Brunettes often have a harder time finding a good dry shampoo because it has a tendency to make darker hair look a bit greyish if you spray it on too close to the roots or if the shampoo formula is mixed with powder. For those of us who can’t afford salon-priced products on the regular, naturally we turn to the more budget-friendly drugstore brands, and I’ve found two dry shampoos in particular that hold up quite well!

Second - Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo. I usually love Dove products… their soaps/body washes, deodorant, chocolates too! (Wait, is that even the same company? After a quick google search, apparently not. Anyway...) Unfortunately their dry shampoo was not what I expected. My biggest con? Too flaky! 3.5 / 5 rating.
The best drugstore dry shampoo (in my opinion) is Got2b Rockin It Encore Fresh Dry Shampoo. I hadn’t really used this brand before giving its dry shampoo a shot and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked! The product jets out of the nozzle and is great at absorbing oil. I spray it about 6 inches away from my hair then rub the shampoo directly into my roots. A little tease, a little tousle, then I am good to go! Two minor downsides though - I do notice some flaky residue if I try to push my hair onto day three. I also go through product quite quickly. I wash my hair every two or three days, which is normal for the average woman, so I don’t think I use that much dry shampoo. I’ve repurchased this particular dry shampoo at least four times though, so despite going through it quickly I think that says something about how much I love it! My Got2b will be coming with me to Central America too! 4.5 / 5 rating.
So there you have it, the best picks if you’re a budget-conscious lady on the go trying to stretch out your hairstyle with some dry shampoo. Give it a shot and let me know if this beauty product doesn’t instantly make its way into your morning routine!
Now get on with ya bad self and go have an awesome hair day.

Haven't tried that before but will definitely keep it in mind the next time I'm looking to defrizz :) Thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteDove's dry shampoo is great! Plus, like with all of their stuff, it smells amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat's good that you had a positive experience with it! I tried two bottles of their dry shampoo but just couldn't get on board, no matter how nice it smelt :)
DeleteThank you for this! You just saved me some dough. I already have the Tresemme (yuck, too much powder) and was just about to buy the Dove. I will be skipping that altogether and going with the Got2B. I wash every three days so a dry shampoo is a must have.
ReplyDeleteHappy to help! :) Let me know what you think!!
DeleteI needed this post! I've tried at least 3 different dry shampoos and they all make my hair feel wet and sticky. Not good!
ReplyDeleteNot good at all, totally the opposite of what dry shampoo is supposed to do! Hopefully these picks work out much better for you, let me know if you end up giving them a try!
